What exactly is the purpose of a fraternity or sorority?
I always feel like every TV show about college glorifies them, but really just seems like a group to party and getting drunk and humiliating freshmen. Which is exactly what fraternities or sororities do? Or rather, what is supposed to do?
TV and movies are not realistic representations. Greek organizations exist to promote fellowship, provide a home while in college, do community service and raise money for charity, develop leadership skills and provide network after college. Yes is a party, but not the point and is not a constant thing. Not all games.
